Great Photos!
Most of these photos come from the wedding photographer, who works at Univision in Sacramento.
He does work in both color and black and white, and some of the black and white work is visually stunning.

The Bride and Groom and Groomsmen!
My brother Andy, who served as Best Man, is to the right and I am to the left of Venus. In the back, from left to right, is Mark Stromberg, Russ Maurice and Patrick Sullivan. Mark is Venus' sister. Patrick is her cousin.

The Wedding Party: Maid of Honor & Bridesmaids
The Maid of Honor, Angelica Urquijo, is to the left of Venus. To her left are Lisa Osteraas, Molly Barry and Alisa Artigas. To my right are Christina Weaklands, Sandy Sirias and Sue Seyan.

Bill and Venus
This is one of my favorite shots, taken just after the wedding had ended. This photo went on our Christmas Card for 2002.

Bill and Andy in Church Parking Lot
This was taken just after Andy and I had arrived at church. Notice the smirk on my brother's face? The photographer, just before snapping this photo, said to me "and I assume your the FATHER of the bride?" He wasn't kidding. I nearly fired him on the spot.

Time for Makeup!
Venus loves this photo of Sue Seyan applying makeup. It was taken about an hour before the wedding. Venus considers it to be one of the best shots in the wedding album.

The Kids
What wedding would be complete without little girls? Emily, to the left, is 4 years old. Sarah, to the right, is 3.

The Walk Down the Aisle
Emily, Venus' cousin, is in front and hammed it up for the crowd. Sarah, needed a little prodding from her mother (and my cousin), Karen Van Overen.

On Bended Knee
Venus was shaking like a leaf during the ceremony, which isn't all that unusual. However, I later learned that Venus wasn't nervous, she was straining. That big bouquet of flowers in her hand weighed a metric ton!

At the Altar
The wedding ceremony, which included Mass, took a little over an hour to complete, which isn't bad. This shot was taken immediately after the ceremony had ended.

Bride and Groom (and kids!)
Sarah, to the right, was going to deliver the wedding rings on the pillow she is holding. However, Sarah had other plans. To her, the large church full of strange people meant "playtime."

Cousin Karen ROCKS!
My Cousin Karen Van Overen graciously agreed to not only sing the Ave Maria during our ceremony, but provide other music as well. She is quite gifted. Her brother, Robert, is a classically trained pianist.

The Ceremony
I can't say enough about this man, other than to say "Thank You Father." Father Macdonald not only performed the Mass and Ceremony, he stuck with me through a long and trying process. The ceremony was the end of a very long process.

Communion
Venus' mother, Pat Stromberg, takes communion during Mass.

Down the Aisle With Dad
This was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for Venus, who used to tell me that her "ideal wedding" included a walk down the aisle with her father. I believe his words to me were "she's yours now."

Bridesmaids Line Up!
Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids await the arrival of the bride. That's Angelica in front. Just behind her, and to the left is Sue. To Sue's right are Lisa, Molly, Alisa, Sandy and Christina

Blowing Bubbles!
Since when is rice "out" after wedding ceremonies? The new thing is to blow bubbles, which Uncle Don is doing with abandon to the left of us.

Tough Guys!
The photographer took a number of shots outside the Sunset-Whitney Country Club where the reception was held, including this one. He told us to "look like The Sopranos from HBO." I kinda think we all look constipated.

Let's Get This Party Started!
This is the entire wedding party following the ceremony, getting ready for the reception at Sunset-Whitney

Patrick Gets LUCKY!
Don't you feel sorry for Cousin Patrick? Beautiful Bridesmaids on both sides, and both are single!

The Toast!
My brother Andy delivered this clever reception toast, which the San Francisco Giants promptly ruined later that night (I'll explain later). The "Swingmasters" provided the most tremendous sound I've ever heard from a swing band.

The Super!
That's me with my sister Debbie, who is Superintendent of the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area in the State of Washington.

Cutting a Rug!
I have no doubt that my dear mother, if she were still alive, would be doing exactly what Aunt Shirley and Uncle Don are doing on the Sunset-Whitney dance floor.

The Women of KFBK
Kami Lloyd and Marna Davis are no strangers when it comes to a camera. They also provided the best gift of the wedding, which Venus is holding in the picture to the right.

Wheelbarrow of Joy
This wheelbarrow, which was on our "list," will never hold anything this good again. We (well, me actually) consumed about half the beer in this wheelbarrow at the reception. Venus' father took the wheelbarrow home for safekeeping after the reception, where the rest of the beer strangely vanished. Her father blamed the loss on wild animals.

The Cute Couple!
That's Mark Stromberg with his lovely bride-to-be, Leana Barrantes. The two were married about a month and a half later in Nicaragua. Venus and I attended the wedding, and photos are posted on this site. Look for the link to your left, or click here.

The Brick Toss
Venus had to pare down the size of her bouquet considerably, or this toss would have likely broken some arms.

Why is This Man Crying?
You would figure that Russ Lopez, spokesman for Governor Gray Davis, would be as happy as a clam with the Maid of Honor and the beautiful bridesmaids begging for his attention.

A Doran Discussion
That's my Aunt Barbara Doran to the left. To her right is her husband and my Uncle, Francis Doran and their son Robert. He played the Ave Maria on the piano during our wedding.

The Giants Blow It
The joy of our wedding and reception was tempered by a choking loss by the San Francisco Giants in Game 6 of the World Series. The woman holding her hand over her mouth, Alisa Artigas, can barely contain her disgust as the Giants blow a five run lead in the 7th inning.

The Great Debate
Venus' mother Pat, and the woman to her right, Aunt Olga, decide who will take home the leftover candy bars and other party favors. To Olga's right, Christina smiles as her request for all the leftover beer is granted.
